Professional Diploma Safety, Health and Environmental Management
Aims and objectives
4See Risk Management is pleased to be able to deliver the Diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental Management (DipSHEM), in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University (NTU).
The programme is a recognised undergraduate award designed to provide a nationally recognised qualification in the dynamic subject area of safety, health and environmental management. On successful completion of the programme, students will be able to:
• Command a range of specialised and conceptual skills
• Demonstrate command of a wide range of skills in a range of functions
• Exercise appropriate judgement in planning, carrying out and evaluating a range of procedures.
Course content
There are six modules.
Law for Health and Safety Practioners, Occupational Health and Hygiene, Risk Assessment, Safety Techniques, Environmental Management and Professional Study Skills.
A variety of assessment techniques are used across the programme, from a range of coursework essays and coursework reports, examinations and multiple choice electronic tests.
Intended for
The DipSHEM is an internationally recognised professional qualification, designed for existing and aspiring safety and health practitioners. Typically, you will have the NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.

The NTU Dip SHEM is accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) as satisfying the academic requirements for membership. Furthermore, the environmental management module is certified as satisfying the associate membership requirements of the Institution of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
