IOSH Safety for Senior Executives
Aims and objectives
The course aims to provide senior executives of organisations with an understanding of their health and safety role and how this should influence their strategic thinking and holistic risk management systems/procedures.
Course content
Delegates will cover:
• The legal framework for health and safety, and responsibilities
for senior executives
• Legal, moral and financial issues
• Current thinking/changes in health and safety management
• Outline of legal systems for criminal and civil liability
• Powers of inspectors and enforcement
• How to take account of health and safety aspects during strategic
planning, decision-making and effective supply chain management
• Accidents at work: the cost of accidents, accident reporting
requirements, accident prevention techniques
Intended for
This course is aimed at people with strategic responsibilities for health and safety in organisations with 250 or more staff and prepares Senior Management for the new Corporate Manslaughter & Homicide legislation.
