Aims and objectives
This course is aimed at all employees and is designed to improve the safety culture within an organisation. It focuses on how individual actions contribute to health and safety in the workplace and provides an understanding of an individual’s responsibilities.
The course can be delivered as part of an induction programme or as part of ongoing training.
Course content
The course covers:
• Identifying hazards and risks in the workplace
• Investigating accidents and their causes; measuring and reviewing performance
• Legal rights and duties of employers and employees
• Identifying and controlling common hazards such as fire, electricity, chemicals and work equipment
Intended for
Working safely is a one-day course for staff from any sector with no supervisory or managerial responsibility. It provides a solid foundation understanding in the essentials of health and safety and enables the delegates to understand the principles of health and safety legislation and responsibilities.
